Learn More about Moses Balagadde

Biography

Moses Balagadde, also known as Mozeh, was a senior cartoonist for the Daily Monitor in Kampala, Uganda, for 15 years. The Daily Monitor is Uganda’s leading independent newspaper. The newspaper’s executive editor, describes of Balagadde:

“Moses has entertained and informed Monitor readers with his incisive and humorous cartoons for one and half decades. His illustrations and commentary on social and political events in the country always tickled the senses of our readers. His perspectives could only come out of a creative mind like his. We shall miss him greatly; his humour, his ideas and all. We salute him for his commitment to Daily Monitor and to journalism.”

Balagadde also contributed cartoons to two books written by Kevin O’Connor, Ugandan Society Observed and Insights into Uganda.

Balagadde died on September 11, 2016.
