Biography
Keith Stevens (1935-2015) was a prolific South African cartoonist who created many well known comic strips for publications such as The Outspan, the Sunday Times, the Star and Rapport. Much of this work was produced along with his wife Lorna Stevens. Among their most famous comic strips are “Flip Foster,” which depicted middle-class life in South Africa; “TJ,” which featured a main character who was a motorist with poor driving habits; and “Ben, Babsie, and Familie.” Keith and Lorna Stevens drew inspiration from their own family life when creating many of their famous comics.
