Biography

Charles Walter Shackleton was born in 1894 and was one of the first students of Natal Technical College. His first artwork was published in 1910, and in 1912, his first caricatures appeared in The Magnet. He also had a series of caricatures in The Latest, a Durban newspaper, where he used the pseudonym ‘Cos. He is most famous for his strip “Little Things that Worry”, which appeared in The Natal Mercury. His book, East African Experiences, details his time as an infantryman during WWI.
