William (Bill) Ashton first became a full time artist in 1985. He is well known for his surrealistic acrylic on canvas landscapes along with portraits he has done. He works out of White River in Mpumalanga, South Africa. He has become popular amongst art connoisseurs in and around South Africa because of his recent World War II Fighter Aircraft and wildlife paintings. It is clear that his paintings show his feelings and his understanding of “tactile essence” and vibrancy that exists in this type of art.
