Biography

Born on September 9 at Galmi, Niger, Sani Djbo is a cartoonist, painter and a comic strip. Student in modern literature, he started drawing after his meeting with Barly Baruti invited by CNBC to Niamey in 1998. In 2001, he published his first drawings to ‘‘Canard Dechainee’’ and then to ‘‘L’Enqueteur’’, ‘‘La Griffe’’, and the ‘‘Herisson’’. In 2013 he also published in the Edition Harmattan a comics trip “Dendi a warrior.” In 2009, he made a painting exhibition at the French Cultural Centre of Niger Niamey. In 2014, he participated in Angoulême comics trip residency training to prepare for his next comic that talks about his father, Senegalese soldier during the war in Indochina. Since 2015, he trains children in the in comics trip at the French-Niger Cultural Centre of Niamey.
