Vic Kasinja was a cartoonist from Malawi best known for his work, Taxina. He was born in 1957 and his art was self taught. In his early twenties, he was discovered by The Daily News and Malawi News. Kasinja soon began to publish his work Joza and in the late nineties began publishing his work Taxina. He used his work to confront many social issues, such as HIV. Vic Kasinja passed away in 2007, shortly before his 50th birthday.
