Biography
Jamón y Queso is the alias of the cartoonist, illustrator, and graphic designer Ramón Esono Ebalé. Ebalé was born in Equatorial Guinea in 1977 and spent most of his childhood in the capital city of Malabo. Since 2011 he has lived and worked in Paraguay. Ebalé is self taught and started reading comic books and drawing as a young child. Prominent themes in Ebalé’s work include government corruption and political repression and violence. His work has been displayed in galleries and exhibitions in Africa, Europe, the United States, and South America.
