Biography
Considered one of the first female Egyptian cartoonists, Rasha Mahdi began cartooning at the newspaper al-Ahrami in 2000. She has since developed a strong online presence through her site rashamahdi.com* and digital cartoon platforms like CartoonMovement.com. Mahdi’s brightly colored and visceral cartoons critique powerful Western institutions like NATO, work against Islamophobia and shed light on political violence across the world. According to her CM profile, she has held multiple exhibits across the Middle East.
