Biography

Born in Abidjan, Lassane Zohoré is an Ivory Coast cartoonist. After brief studies at the National School of Fine Arts, he began his art career at the Ivorian daily “Fraternité Matin” as a cartoonist. He is the founder of the satirical newspaper Gbich. In 1993, he entered the Abidjan department of McCann Worldwide, and became its artistic director until 1999 when he joined his new review “Gbich” in which he exercises as managing editor. Lassane Zohoré is the creator of “Inkblot”, an association of the best cartoonists of Ivory Coast. He also organized in Abidjan, the biennial “Coco bulles”. However, his greatest success will be the creation of “Cauphy Gombo”, comic character and travesty of businessman, for his Gbich newspaper!. His first cartoon published in September 2002, is organized logically on the adventures of this character so appreciated by the public which will lead to a TV series.
