Biography
Lekgaba’s work graces the pages of the Botswana Gazette and The Weekend Post. He is known for taking on the sitting president, whomever that may be, even if he likes the person in that office. Just because he likes someone, he reports, “does not mean I cannot disagree with his fouls nor draw them.” In 2011, he became the first cartoonist in Botswana to draw, that is, cartoon court proceedings. The court security, who had never seen that before, detained him and confiscated his equipment, but the judge released Lekgaba soon thereafter.
