Biography
Kais al-Hilali was a Libyan political cartoonist and graffiti artist, best known for his paintings and caricatures of Muammar Gaddafi. During the Libyan Civil War, just after finishing a caricature of Gaddafi, al-Hilali was shot and killed by unknown assailants. Al-Hilali’s death sparked responses from numerous cartoonists across the globe.
