Biography
Le Hic is the alias for Algerian cartoonist Hichem Baba Ahmed. Ahmed began working as a cartoonist in 1985 at L’Athentique. He later moved on to Le Matin and Le Jeune Indépendant. Ahmed has received some negative attention for his work, including charges of defamation. In 2005, he received a three-month suspended prison sentence for insulting the Algerian president. Since 2006, Ahmed has drawn cartoons for Le Soir d’Algérie; he also has his work featured in El Watan and Courrier International.
